This will depend on the proportional amount to be changed and what you would like it changed to, but ultimately the answer is yes. This needs to be discussed at the beginning and noted on the checklist sheet. |
I would like part of a photo changed. Is this possible? |
Anything you would like. Most people like to include names, dates, catch phrases, nicknames, virtues, characteristics, comments in relation to the photos e.g. cheeky grin, big brother, angelic moment, little monster. If you would prefer to have blank spaces left in your albums to handwrite something in later please let us know the sizes you would like. |
What text can I include? |
Yes. Our priority is to provide you with artwork you will adore. In order to do this, we need to be sure we are on the same page with you regarding design style, timing, delivery, and price. Therefore we have a client-designer agreement that is completed and signed at the beginning by both the client and designer. |
Do you have a contract? |
Yes. Once the design work is completed you can order as many as you wish. You only pay for the additional reprints. We keep you project archived for one year incase you decide you want to order additional artwork for parents, grandparents, family, and friends. |
Can I order duplicate artwork? |
People prefer to purchase frameless art so they can choose a frame which will fit in with their preferred style. |
Do you supply frames? |
We accept payment through credit transfer, cash and cheques. If you would like to use credit transfer we will give you our bank account details to enable a transfer. If paying by cheque your artwork/album will not be started until the deposit cheque has cleared. |
How do you accept payment? |
To be honest, no. The quality of the original images impacts on the final artwork produced. Good quality photos will be crafted into great artwork. |
My photos are granulated/poor quality—will this still look good? |
If your photos have small scratches/damage and you wish to use them. Photos will be accessed when sighted to confirm whether they are usable/restorable. If there is a lot of work required to restore them prior to use an additional charge will apply due to the extra work involved. This will be notified prior to starting work. |
Some of my photos have scratches/damage—can I use them? |
We use original photo prints, digital photos, or scanned photos. If scanned photos are being used they will need to be either 300dpi or 400dpi to maintain clear images for montages or digi-art. Pop art can be created from photos of 150dpi, a lower resolution. Photo prints can be sent to us to scan and use. The original prints will be returned with the completed project. Depending on the service required, if a lot of scanning is required an additional cost may be charged for the time taken for scanning. |
What type of photos can be used? |
What are the advantages? |
There are several advantages. · Multiple copies can be produced for family and friends and they still maintain the original quality. · In the event of loss or damage, digitally archived and produced artwork can be simply reprinted. · Digitally produced artwork provides the benefit of having a back-up copy of your artwork while still retaining the unique quality and style of the original. · Display albums can be shared as a traditional album or remove your favourite pages and display them in A4 frames. · Favourite pages of your albums can be reprinted as photos and framed as a gift for family. · Digital artwork has the artistic quality of digital crafting/scrapbooking without the bulk, and allows work to be framed easily. · Crafted artwork does not have any additional pieces (embellishments etc) to pull/fall off or lose. |

This depends on a number of factors: the service you choose; the style you would like; how prominent you would like images in contrast to the background, text, and embellishments; and whether you would like any images cropped. This is discussed at the beginning. Preferred option is usually one photo prominent and the rest smaller. Usually A4 pages hold between 1-3 photos, A3 pages hold between 3-6 photos, A4 photomontage holds up to maximum of 7 photos, A3 photomontage holds up to maximum of 12 photos, 20cm x 42cm photo montage holds up to maximum of 10 photos. |
Absolutely. In fact, we want you to. This will ensure we are on the right track. After completing two or three double pages, we will provide an image of the layouts to you to ensure we have the same focus and style as you desired. At this point, we can discuss any amendments you require. |
Sometimes a situation can arise that requires the project to be done very quickly. At Rykeland Design we will do our very best to provide you with your completed project as soon as possible in such situations. Please inform the designer when ordering. |
